Frequently asked questions

Plain-English answers about how Giblet works, and what the proof record actually does.

Understanding Giblet

What is Giblet?+

Giblet is a document-signing platform that creates a permanent, tamper-evident proof record once a document is fully signed.

How is Giblet different from other e-signature platforms?+

Ordinary e-signature tools help you complete a signature. Giblet adds a durable, independently verifiable proof record of the exact final file — useful long after signing day.

What problem does Giblet solve?+

It solves the risk of a signed document being altered, lost, renamed or disputed once it leaves the original inbox or folder.

Who is Giblet designed for?+

Lawyers and conveyancers, procurement teams, property and construction businesses, governance teams, and anyone signing an agreement with future financial or legal significance.

How it works

What happens when I upload a document?+

Your PDF is prepared for signing — you place fields for name, signature and date, then send it to your recipients.

What will the other person experience when I send them a document to sign?+

They receive a simple email with a secure link. No account or install is needed — they open the link, review the document, and sign. It works on computer or mobile.

When is the proof record created?+

After the final signer completes the document, Giblet creates the proof record automatically.

Do signers need to know anything about blockchain?+

No. Signing works like any other e-signature platform — the proof record is created automatically in the background.

Security and verification

Is my contract stored on the blockchain?+

No. Only a cryptographic fingerprint of the signed document is recorded, along with a timestamp — never the document’s contents.

Can someone modify the document after it has been signed?+

Any change to the file produces a different fingerprint. Because the original fingerprint is permanently recorded, alterations become detectable.

How can a contract be verified years later?+

The signed PDF can be checked against its recorded fingerprint. A match confirms it is the exact file completed at signing.

What happens if Giblet is no longer operating in the future?+

The proof record still exists — it can be independently verified without relying on Giblet’s servers.

Are my contracts visible on the blockchain?+

No. Contract contents are never stored there — only the fingerprint used to verify the document later.

Documents and storage

Where is my signed contract stored?+

Each signer receives a copy of the signed PDF by email. Giblet temporarily stores the document for download, while the proof record remains permanent.

How long are documents stored?+

Documents are stored for 3 months to allow download, then deleted. We recommend keeping your own copy.

Who owns the signed contract?+

The signing parties. Each signer receives a completed copy and can store it wherever they choose.

Legal and pricing

Does the proof record help if a signed document is disputed?+

Yes. Giblet uses standard electronic signature processes recognised in many jurisdictions, and the independent proof record gives you strong supporting evidence of exactly what was signed if a document is ever questioned later.

What happens if someone claims the contract is fake or altered?+

The proof record provides independent verification that the document existed at a specific time and has not changed, giving you strong supporting evidence to counter the claim.

How much does Giblet cost?+

Giblet is priced per document, covering both signing and the proof record — no subscription, and signers never pay.
